Isle Royal National Park (Michigan)

In the middle of Lake Superior, near the Minnesota-Canada border, lies this National Park. Isle Royale is a long, thin, island which is almost 100% wilderness. The island is a backpacking and canoeing paradise populated by wolves and moose along with other mammals, birds, and quite a few snakes. These photographs were all taken in the summer of 1998 during a one week trek across the island.
